Rickey Bolden, Senior Pastor

Rickey Bolden was born and raised in the inner city of Dallas, Texas with four brothers and four sisters. Rickey excelled in sports at an early age and by his senior year in high school, he was one of Texas's top recruits. He received a football scholarship to Southern Methodist University, and by his senior year in college, he was named to the All-Southwest Conference team. He was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 1984, and had an immediate impact on the team. He played six seasons, then retired to attend Ashland Theological Seminary and pursue a call into full-time ministry. Rickey earned both a Master of Divinity and a Doctorate of Ministry degree from Ashland. In 1992, he went Washington D.C. to pastor Southeast Christian Fellowship. Nine years later, he retired to serve our nation's leadership. In 2005, Rickey became the Senior Pastor of New Community, where he shepherds a congregation and serves the poor and less fortunate in the community. Rickey is married to Glenda and has 4 sons and 1 daughter. In his spare time, Rickey loves to exercise.
