"Waumba Land" is Swahili for "Land of the Creator".
Our main objective is to make Waumba Land a safe place where your children, ages infant-4 years, can experience God's love for them.
All of our Waumba Land Kids are taught that:
God MADE me; God LOVES me; Jesus wants to be my FRIEND forever!
Waumba Land opens every Sunday morning @ 8:45 and 10:30 (15 minutes prior to our NCC worship services.)
Are you new to NCC? It can be overwhelming if you don’t know the routine…especially when it comes to children’s ministry. We hope the following information will help you and your child have a great experience on Sunday morning. We are excited to have them in Waumba land, we believe that it is our reponsiblity to introduce preschoolers to their Heavenly Father. So before they leave Waumba land, we want them to know..God loves them….God made them…Jesus is their friend.
Please bring diapers, bottles, pacifiers and any special blankets that will soothe your baby through the morning. These items need to be labeled with child’s name. If your children are potty-training please communicate that to the teaches and bring an extra change of clothes. Volunteers are never allowed alone in bathrooms with children. They will assist with clothing ( as needed) outside the door and with hand washing afterward. Our policy is that only females change diapers or have bathroom duty.
Please do not bring solid foods, medicine, or toys from home.
We provide toys, activities and snacks in the classrooms. We usually serve cheerios, animal crackers and goldfish. If we are serving something else you will find a note posted on the door outside of your child’s classroom informing you of the new food item. If your child has allergies, please inform teachers.
Children will hear a Bible story and participate in many age appropriate, creative activities throughout the morning. We believe in an active hands-on approach with our kids, so be on the lookout for those fun projects!
Promotion for infant-toddlers is based on development. Your teachers will communicate with you before change is made. For 2 year olds, promotion will occur on the 1st Sunday after 2nd birthday. Promotion from the 2-4 year old room is based on the school calendar. Promotion takes place in the fall.
