I've really embraced the concept of "Transformed People Transform The World." I like having the bracelet to remind me of my responsibility to live a transformed life. It's a responsibility that we all share to change the world around us, but it must begin with us and our own walk with the Lord.

G.I.R.L.S has had a big impact on my daughters. I believe that they have learned more about God through the program. Specifically, I like that they are learning how special they are and how much God treasures them.

G.I.R.L.S. has been such a blessing to me and my family. Not only have I witnessed growth in all the girls but in my own girls. This group has allowed these girls to have a sense of respect and accountability for themselves and each other. It has also confirmed everything that I personally try to teach my daughters. As a parent it feels great when all you try to instill in your daughters about beauty, purity, and self worth and they finally have that Ah ha moment because it was confirmed by their church group and the people in that group just feels great. It's hard enough trying to raise children in this world, but it becomes a lot easier when you have a support group like G.I.R.L.S.

I wanted to share how truly good God is! We should never cease to praise God no matter what circumstances come our way. Mark and I took our children, Tamariah and Emmanuel to the dentist for an appointment and a checkup. Tamariah had been having a toothache and is absolutely terrified of the dentist. So, we just prayed and left it in God's hands. As the dentist began doing the x-rays, Tamariah began to have a seizure. The doctor and the dental hygienists were all a little shaken up, but were still trying to keep Emmanuel calm about what was happening. Emmanuel responded that he knew everything was going to be alright because he had been taught that “everything happens to give you a reason and opportunity to praise God and draw closer to him” (at least that's what he learned in his Promiseland). We also share the belief at our house; we never cease to praise God, regardless of the circumstances.
Many times when Tamariah has seizures at home, we put on praise music and do hand and body motions to the songs. Emmanuel had started doing the movements at the dentist's office (so Tamariah could see him) and Tamariah started imitating him. Fear led her to have a seizure, but praising God brought her out of her postictal state! Everyone at the dentist's office was amazed and impressed at the events that were happening and Emmanuel was quick to jump in. He told the entire office that, "You have to praise God, even when things are bad because it takes your eyes off of your circumstances and puts them on God and things always get better when you praise Him." He then promptly asked them if they were saved and knew who God was! He continued by him telling them that if they didn't know God or weren't saved that they needed to read Romans 10:9, because that would start them on the path to salvation. He then started going through the scripture.
You can't tell me that God ain't good! Just another example of how transformed people transform the world. For us, Promiseland isn't just something we take our kids to on Sunday or a glorified babysitting service. We take the lessons home and implement them so that they get a full understanding of it, so they can share with others as led by God.
